30 Oct 2021, Getting Ready for the Haul and Winter, 38 46.458 N/ 076 33.768 W

In a couple of weeks, Jule III will be hauled for the winter. Prior to the haul, the headsail has to be removed. Ann is busy with radiation and chemo, so this will be a solo job. The headsail is a working jib so it is manageable. We will keep the main and mizzen with covers on their booms. We tried some tricks with the boat cover but eventually we will have to remove it. So poor Jule will be covered with snow this winter without her cover. On a positive note, the bottom paint held up well and the zincs wore down as expected. See you in the spring, Jule!!!

15 Oct 2021, At 7113 Lipscomb for a couple of weeks, 34 06.102 N/ 077 55.416 W

Bob headed back to our second home in Wilmington. Sadly, Ann has going through her chemo+radiation treatments. Soon we got into our routine of dealing with cancer, Covid, and life on the hard. Her treatments will be over just before Thanksgiving, but she gets weaker and sicker every week.

One of our 'survival' mainstays has been the Wilmington Senior Center's
remote pickup of hot lunches. This has been a God send to Bob during
Ann's clinical issues. He doesn't cook, he doesn't know how to cook,
but the lunches have kept him going. Volunteers Chet, Aubry, and Mike
have been instrumental in feeding us seniors. Thanks guys and thanks New
Hanover County!
