14 Apr 2005, Commisioning SV Jule III for another season, 38 48.517 N/ 076 33.895 W

The boat is ready: the hull is waxed, the sails have been cleaned, systems have been checked out and have been de-winterized, and the bottom paint is fresh (both on the boat and on us). We are anxious to be splashed and head for Baltimore. However, we are sad to say goodby to our yard buddies at Herrington Harbour. (It is only an hour drive so we will not miss them for long). Tomorrow we get splashed

17 Apr 2005, Waiting for Departure, 38 48.517 N/ 076 33.895 W

SV Jule III is in the well waiting for Steve to tune and inspect the rigging. We have to let the boat settle in the water a couple of days. So boat projects begin (again). Our jib halyard winch was a bit noisy (no it was very noisy) and the mainsail sheet winch didn't sound too hot either. So we took them apart, cleaned them, put them back together, didn't lose (or break) any parts. An guess what? They worked!
