Last Wednesday we got into LV Jule III and headed down to Sabastian Inlet, Florida. Purpose: to pester Moony one last time. We loaded Levi, Gina, and Sammy Jane into the RV at 2000 and headed South. We tied up at the South Carolina rest area for 6 hours, then left at 0600 for Sebastian. We arrived at 1430 at the Sebastian Inlet State Park. Moony had rented a car and we were hugging (guys don't hug) by 1500.
We headed for the Vero Beach marina to take a quick peek at SV Moony on her mooring. Of course she was sharing it with two other boats as the marina was quite busy. We love Vero Beach and so it was hard to drag Bob away from the marina. We got him as far as the restaurant under the bridge. Great being here. It would be better if Jule III were moored here also.
Next day, we called Moony on the VHF and found that they were waiting for us at the marina's lounge. We made them go back to their dinghy so that we could take this picture. Jule III's crew is strange. Next we headed for all of the places we visited last Spring including Jalisco's restaurant, the beach coffee shop, and of course Fort Pierce.
Fort Pierce has not changed. Marina still is not dredged though there is equipment there in preparation for a winter dredging. The birds are back! The mangrove island is again full of pelicans and tropical birds. Picture is terrible (Ann took it) as it was past dusk and there wasn't much light. We were all excited that they were back. In the Harbor Cove restaurant, we met Beth during happy hour and she remembered what we drank. Ann took a picture of us at the bar, but it didn't turn out either. We asked about the cats (check out last year's cruise). Hoover was doing great (Ann took a picture but you guessed it) but the small black cat (Midnight)had to be put asleep as her legs were completely paralyzed.
It was really blowing during our visit and each day was a little colder. We decided to drive to Ft. Lauderdale so that Moony could get charts of the west coast of Central and North America from Bluewater Charts. Sunday we stayed around Vero Beach and wrapped up our visit with a happy hour on Moony. On Monday, we had breakfast at the 2002 restaurant and then pointed the bow of the RV northward to Northern Virginia for doctor appointments. Oh boy!

Two years ago, Captain Ann had a case of pancreatitus. It hurt really bad but the doctors made it go away. They did not know why she had it. When we arrived in Wilmington this Fall, she got sick. After many doctor visits, it was determined that she had pancreatitus again. A CAT scan revealed a cyst or a tumor. Yesterday's CAT scan revealed that it had not grown but had not gone away. She is feeling mostly better now but she is worried. The Crew is worried. Cancer apparently is not a real concern but a major operation is. Let's keep Captain Ann in our prayers during this Holiday Season! Thanks!
