Our first contact with the RMHYC group was Barry on one of our ferry trips. He in tuned introduced us to Tom on SV Minden. Afterwards we met many of th Boat Harbour crew. On our first visit to Boat Harbour, we were introduced to the husky dog, Jazz. He brought back many memories of our beloved huskies, Tasha and Levi. Sad but rewarding at the same time.
Barry was one of the contenders in the RMHYC bocce tournament. We were invited to see the final matches. Barry played great games but a few played better. As we remember, Barry came in third out of 20 some players. Not bad, Barry. The bocce they played was different than the game we play in Wilmington. We would have played poorly in the sands of Boat Harbour.
No bocce game would be complete without the cheerleader squad and the RMHYC had an impressive group. They would come out and cheer several times during the series finale. They all had their personal favorites.
We were invited to their annual Margarita Party where everybody had a great time including the crew of Jule III. We had a great time with the Boat Harbour community. Several of us would catch the Catholic Church bus to attend Sunday Mass. Great service with great people. Thanks for taking us in!

16 Mar 2013, Last Days in the Abacos, 26 32.874 N/ 077 03.102 W

After really stinky weather for much of the three weeks, we finally found a small weather window to get us to Vero. However, we still had a few days so we decided to continue our visit to Marsh Harbour. We visited our favorite restaurant, Curly Tails, which is on the property of the Conch Inn. They had great pizzas and salads and good service also. We visited there several times.
We also visited the famous Jib Room restaurant and marina. Food was good but we enjoyed CTs more. The nice long walk to the Jib Room offered some incredible vistas of the Sea of Abaco. The marina was very cruiser friendly but a fair distance from Marsh Harbour.
The last couple of days found us at anchor in the harbor. Water is a bit skinny but the harbor is not as crowded as when we first arrived. We found some not so skinny water where we had about 6 inches under our keel at low water. Not bad I guess. The weather was moderating and a weather window would open for our return trip to Vero. So we will probably leave tomorrow if the weather holds.
