Happy New Year from the crew of S/V
Jule III. We had a great Christmas at homeport with
the first white Christmas in our memory. Bob's mother
was visiting during the holiday. We had just received
great news about Ann's condition, and Santa was good
to us (no flat panel TV yet, though). On 27 December,
we took Bob's mother back home and started our drive
back to Vero (without Levi and Gina). We stopped to
see our grandbaby (and their parents) in Richmond as
we headed back. We arrived back to the boat on the
29th and started our provisioning for the Bahamas.

Chatauqua was still at Vero so we did some
shopping with them. We hope to cruise with them to
the Exumas. Their cruising style is similar to ours;
cautious and slow. S/V Magic arrived in Vero today and
we hope to see them tomorrow. We got some distressing
news from the home front tonight. Bob's mother is in the
hospital with pneumonia. If she responds well to
treatment, she should be home by Sunday. If that be the
case, then our trip should continue. Otherwise, we may
be making another trip to home port.

We are waiting with S/V Picaroon II for
a weather window. Our original plan had our first stop
as the Exumas. However, we may head for the Abacos
as airports are more plentiful there. The next weather
window appears to be Sunday/Monday. Everything is
up in the air now.

We are heading back to Vienna VA for a medical
emergency. The pneumonia has been diagnosed as advanced
cancer. Boat is safe at Grand Harbor.
