From a distance, the Søby harbor looks like the others on Ærø; neat, clean, and inexpensive. I am getting used to the method of throwing loops on the piling, then tying up to the bridge (i.e.,dock). Wolfgang gave me a loop and I but it over our port piling; Denise took care of the starboard then headed for the bow. In the evening, the harbormaster comes to collect what is due. This night he was a bit cheeky with his customers. He has a routine and is not very tolerent of folks that don't know about it, that is,
he comes to you, you don't go to him! The Harbormaster also blows taps to remind the cruisers to cover their ensign at sunset.

We decided to stay another day as the weather may not be in our favor soon. So Wolfgang suggested that we go to Svendborg by a ferry to Ærøskøbing and another to Svendborg. And so we did. Svendborg is a beautiful, old town, full of classic work boats and cruising boats. Here, like most of our destinations, we shop, eat, and walk the town. Usually, we'll stop for a beer or two. After a full day at Svendborg, we reversed our ferry tracks and arrived before dark. The next day, we stopped at the bakery for breakfast and afterwards, Wolfgang headed Blue Booby for Avernakø
