12 Jan 2012, North to Braedenton, 27 28.218 N/ 082 40.932 W

Packed up the RV and continued our drift to the North. About three hours later we were deep in the thick of Florida tourist traffic. Undaunted, we headed west towards the end of Cortez Blvd where the very, very expensive Holiday Cove RV Resort was waiting for us. Caramba! It was beautiful but somewhat sterile as only the rich of the rich stayed here. What are we doing here?
We are to see Ren and Barb of SV Magic who come to the Island every year to enjoy thier condo(s). We first met Ren and Barb in the Dry Tortugas in 2001. Turns out we always forget to take their pictures. As a result, this 2001 picture is the latest that we have. Next time we will update our picture library. Promise. We had a great time visiting with them but again it was time to head North.

15 Jan 2012, Last Stop, Leesburg FL, 28 49.38 N/ 081 56.49 W

We took our time leaving Braedenton. We discovered the Cortez Cafe and wanted to eat there one more time so we didn't really leave until 1200. Not to fear, Leesburg was only a couple hours a way. There we parked in the driveway of our friends Barb and Bob on s/V Barbobasea. We always have such a tight schedule when we stop by that we are there only one night. This time we stayed 3!!!! Ann so wanted to experience going to the yard sales with Barb and her friends on Saturday morning.
We love the game of Bocce and sure enough they have a great court in their neighborhood. The boy played against the girls and guess what. The guys won 3 out of 3 games. Was there any doubt? Ann and Barb were not happy. Our visit there was very relaxing. Our campground was their driveway and it provided a nice quiet environment. After many meals and travels around Leesburg including a trip to the Villages, it was time for us to head back to homeport (ILM). Tomorrow early, we will pack up LV Jule and start the trek back. Ten hours isn't too long.
