By late Friday, the Stream lost its influence
on us and we traveling at 5.5 kts again. The chartplotter was happier
with a much better ETA. Ann could hand feed Sammy a bit of tuna fish
but she still was not drinking much. She spent most of her time in the
berth. We scheduled a vet appointment after our arrival. We arrived at
the Masonboro sea buoy at 1145 and tied up at Mona Black at 1400. Along
the way, one of the boats that would participate in the in the Carolina
Beach Parade of Lights passed us. We saw him later that night in full
regalia and he looked great. We stayed in the boat for nearly a week
cleaning, fixing, and tightening stuff. By the end, Sammy was doing
pretty good. Vet said that she was weak but improving. Later we had
her thyroid treatment completed with radioactive Iodine. We are now
working on our Plan B. Stay tuned for the details.
