25 Oct 2002, Anchored in the Alligator River, 35 40.369 N/ 076 03.400 W

We got up early in Elizabeth City and head for Stalks across the street for breakfast. We were the first ones in the door at 6:00 AM. It will be the only time we think that we will go out for breakfast. We will have to get on the road early and miss that specialty. We left the dock at 7:10 AM and headed for the Alligator River. It was another short day and we dropped anchor at 3:00 PM. No Rain for a change. It got up to 78.4 degrees this afternoon. At 4:00 PM we were invited with 3 other couples to have cocktails and snacks on S/V Fantasy Island by Frank and Joanne. We had a lovely time and Frank even provided the transportation since our dinghy has been put away.

25 Oct 2002, RE Mayo Shrimp and Bait Company, 35 14.600 N/ 076 35.439 W

We were up early again this morning and heading for Hobucken, NC. Yep, it was raining! I know you can't find it on the map but it is a great place to stop before going to Beaufort, NC. There is just an old dock in front of R.E. Mayo Shrimp and Bait where S/V Celena was waiting for us. They only charge $12.00 for dockage and electricity. Ann will only let Bob pay so much for all our docking so this one really doesn't count. She said we spent to much time tied up last time and need to really experience the sailing life on the hook. It rained again today of course but not for very long. Ann purchased some fresh shrimp with the heads still on them at the dock here. She steamed them for dinner and they were very good. It is not going to be nice out tomorrow so we might stay another day and head for Beaufort, N.C. on Saturday..
