Ann's recovery was not as complete as we first thought. Within two weeks of her operation, she was back in the hospital complaining of severe pain. It took a bunch of very powerful painkiller to calm it down. On her second day in the hospital, she 'sprang a leak'! Fluid came spurting out of one of her old incisions. Nasty looking but certainly made her feel better. Even a week later, she is still leaking a bit. Today the doctor said that it should stop in a week or so. She got clearance to go to our winter homeport (Wilmington NC). So tomorrow, we hop in the land vessel and head back. Stay tuned.

Poor Ann is still struggling with were post operative woes. Amazingly her pancreas is working perfectly making the proper amount of bile and insulin. However, her fluid problem remains and is disrupting her ability to eat very much. Lucky Bob. He gets to eat everything she can't. Today she entered the hospital for the third time; this episode to install a drain to remove the fluid. We hope the internal leaking is finished. If not, then ... we'll see. We are still hopeful for our Spring Break cruise to Bald Head with our grandkid, Collin. Let's hope.
