12 Oct 2013, Haul Out at HHN, 38 46.344 N/ 076 33.774 W

A very muddy anchor was raised from the Rhode River and Jule III headed for Herrington Harbour North for haul out, bottom paint, and some cleaning. We got some great support from Phipps Boat Works and Osprey Composites. We were supposed to stay only a few days, but the weather socked us in for almost 10 days.
Because of a clerical error, they moved us to a slip during a squall. Nobody was happy but the senior staff was receptive to our concerns. Not bad! So we have been rolling here for over 5 days waiting for the squally weather to go away. We met up with Ed and Benia on MV Genteel where they invited us to their boat for dinner. Of course they were previous sailors! We also had dinner with Butch and Vicki of SV Legend and Robin and Buster of Phipps Boat Works. We also had lunch with SV Over Budget in Annapolis. Too busy!

17 Oct 2013, On to Hampton and the Salty Dawgs, 37 01.068 N/ 076 20.496 W

It was time to leave Herrington Harbour and head down to Hampton to participate in the Salty Dawg Rally. We retraced our steps with a weather stop in Solomon's, an overnight in the Great Wicomico, and Thursday arrival in Hampton. Our original plan was to anchor in Mill Creek and tie up at Bluewater Yacht Center on Friday but we arrived in the mid afternoon and tied up in slip D4-16. Lots of big boats in small slips with a very narrow fairway. Hope we get out of here without bumping.
